The ultra-right, misogynistic, and woefully inept president has been impeached. While the Constitutional Court must still ratify it, approval is expected within two months. This victory belongs to the people, who marched through the streets for 11 days demanding justice. Leading this movement were young people, especially young women, whose courage fueled this historic moment. I joined them, sitting amidst the rallying crowd of over a million outside the National Assembly. As I looked around, I saw their resolute faces and felt an immense sense of hope. In their hands, Korea’s democracy feels vibrant and secure. Despite the cold air biting at my cheeks, their courage brought a warmth that no winter could extinguish. BTS’s Fire blazed through the freezing day—a fitting anthem for a people who have reignited the flames of justice!
